Hats Off to Me

Speaking of hats off, I spent all day making some CSS changes to my blog, and I must say... I think it looks fantastic in comparison to the way that it was before. So in that aspect, hats off to me. Mostly because CSS is like learning Chinese to me. But anyway, on to the real topic. Hats. I apparently used to love them when I was little. All the moms were jealous of my mom because her well mannered baby (me) left them on, while their children apparently took them off immediately. But somewhere around the age of eight I began to lose my love for hats. However, recently, I have taken to them again and am quite smitten with my hat collection thus far. It mostly consists of cloche hats at the…

Tory Burch Resort 2014

It's here. With the holidays over, brands are beginning to release their Resort 2014 collections. I am basically in love with everything in this spring collection over at Tory Burch. Here are some of my favorites from the collection: 1st Column from the Top: Geraldine Sandal, $325 | Kerrington Cosmetic Case, $88 | Frete Clutch, $435 | Lock Closure Bracelet, $125 | Rae Floral Tote, $265 2nd Column from the Top: Hugo Flat, $235 | Sunglasses, $175 | Robinson Color Block Tote, $575 |  Earrings, $125 |  Davy Patent Thong, $265 Like I said, I love almost everything in this punchy collection.…

For those of you that have read my helpful guide, How to Turn Your Bedroom into a Luxury Suite, you will know that my obsession with hotel bedding runs deep in my veins. This being said, you can imagine my delight when I saw that Rue La La was hosting a hotel bedding event that ends in two days! They have amazing deals on otherwise pocket book crippling priced bedding sets! I just purchased a new hotel bedding duvet myself, otherwise I would be taking full advantage of this amazing sale! If you haven't treated yourself to a little self gifted present this holiday season, this sale would be the perfect time to do it! Also, for those of you that don't know what Rue La La is, its a super amazing website that…

A Ruffled Affair

Blouse, Forever 21 (similar in black) |  Blazer, Sinclaire (Resale Shop) | Purse,  Vieta (old) I know I need to be better about posting on time, sorry about that. But hey, better late than never right? On a positive note, I'm so in love with this gorgeous navy blazer that I found at a local thrift shop. It was basically brand new and couldn't be any prettier. It has a lovely shape and looks super flattering on. Sooo worth the $15.00 that I spent on it. Do you shop at any thrift stores or consignment shops? What is your latest and greatest find? XOXO.

Christmas Outfit of the Day

Dress, Forever 21 (old) | Tights, Similar | Shoes, Kate Spade | Coat, Talbots (old)  This was the outfit that I wore to attend our annual brunch at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas that we go to every year. I had a wonderful time with my family and boyfriend this year at Christmas! The food was amazing as usual, and I had a great time catching up with my parents! How was your Holiday?

Fashion Dupes

Joe Fresh, $22.99 | J Crew, $148.00 I've been loving the J Crew Sequin Mesh Bell Skirt this season. It's a festive take on their well known paper bag style skirts! I love it's versatility and have seen so many fun ways to style! Dress it up, dress it down, the possibilities are endless. Joe Fresh's look a like skirt provides an affordable option that allows you to get the same chic look. Joe Fresh, $14.39 | J Crew, $138.00 The coveted J Crew herringbone vest. The object of this seasons fashion obsession. I love this vest as much as anyone, but sometimes $140.00 is a little too much. The vest from Joe Fresh is nearly identical, so that you too can get the look of the herringbone vest. Agaci, $16.50 | Kate Spade,…

Tv Show Obsessions

When it comes to the things that I am interested in, I tend to become a little obsessed, at least for a short time. Whether it be a new hobby, a new favorite show, or a product that I'm thinking about buying, it's basically all that I think about depending on my degree of interest. That being said, when it comes to tv shows, I get pretty obsessed. Sex and the City. Ahhh... my first binge watching tv experience. Binge watching was a bit more challenging (aka expensive) a few years ago before on demand tv and Netflix became available. In the "olden days" (ha) one had to rent, or god forbid buy, the show a season at a time. Sex and the City was my first true binge watching experience, and let me…

Drug Store Makeup Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

I did a review on Maybelline's Dream Mousse Foundation a while ago when I first started using it. I recently switched foundation again because the CVS by my house didn't have the right shade of foundation that I needed. I figured why not try another one? The Pros   This time I chose Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse Foundation to try. They had my shade in this  one ( Light Ivory 05) so I decided to experiment a little and try it out. Like the name suggests, it provides a matte foundation, sharply contrasting the dewey finish that the Dream Mousse gives the skin. I personally like the matte, as I have combination skin that tends to get oily after a while. This foundation counteracts this and provides an even, non-oily matte finish. (more…)

LXR & Co- Discount Designer Bags

I discovered this amazing website earlier tonight and my life basically changed. LXR & Co is a website that sells pre-owned designer hand bags! Naturally they carry all of the essentials, aka- Gucci, Fendi, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Cartier, and Prada and sell them at a discounted price depending on condition. They have a detailed rating system that gives you a clear idea of the bag's quality. I haven't yet ordered from this site, but as soon as I save up enough I definitely will be picking my next child bag.

How to Style Leopard Print

For a while leopard print wasn't something that I was interested in owning much of. I wasn't sure how to style it, so I just didn't bother with it. However, in recent months Leopard/Cheetah print has really grown on me. When styled correctly, this bold print can make a chic statement! (more…)
