  | Napkins, 10.00 | Pillow, 25.00 | Straw Tote, 30.00 | Sandals, 30.00 | Shift Dress, 38.00 | Jumpsuit, 44.00 | Satin Dress, 38.00 | In case you haven't heard, Lilly Pulitzer is releasing a collection for Target on April 19th. Yes I know.. Pretty exciting! Today they released their look book online and I must say that I am liking what I see! I especially love what they did with the home collection! They chose several prints to mix and match in sets of four (napkins, candles, plates, bowls, etc.) for a fun, casual effect. I also really like the Women's collection. My favorites are the two jumpsuits, and the "silk" tunic style dress! The patterns that they chose are playful and feature animals like the ever adorable giraffe, elephant, and flamingo. Look…

Weekend Recap {March 21st}

So Dallas has been pretty much in a state of permanent cloudiness for most of March. Needless to say, when we finally got some rays of sunshine this weekend, everyone high tailed it to the nearest patio. I was extremely busy and productive this past week so I thought I deserved some well earned patio time! (more…)

How To Balance Your Life

As of late, my schedule has been beyond hectic. Learning to balance school, work, and Progression by Design while attempting to maintain a workout routine has been a giant learning curve. Let me tell you, I am not perfect at it. However, this being said, it is possible balance it all and keep a firm grasp on your sanity! Perfection: Give it Up It is a rare thing to accomplish every single thing on your to do list. Perfection, no matter how hard that we strive for it, is unrealistic and unattainable. For example, I have had every intention of writing a blog post everyday in March. Well... it's March 25th and I have written eight posts not twenty four. It happens. I planned on eating clean and healthy all week, and then I had no…

Progression By Design Overhaul

So if you have been a reader for a while, you may have noticed that (drum roll please....) Progression by Design has gotten a style overhaul! I have spent several days chained to my desk putting the finishing touches on it (still a few to go) and could not be happier with it! I liked my design before, but I didn't feel that it properly reflected my brand and where I want to take Progression by Design. I added in some color (finally) and some other fun design elements to give it a fresher look! In addition to PBD's spiffy new getup, I have some other things in the works that I can't wait to share with you when the time comes! I have had such a great month with my blog and just…

5 Things About College That Aren’t True

  After graduating high school and heading to college, I've picked up some nuggets of wisdom along the way. As I  typed the list below, I felt like the most cynical asshole ever. Please understand that I am not trying to be negative. These things are not accurate for everyone I completely realize that. However, after watching myself and my friends make our way through the early years of our higher education, we all pretty much agree on the following five things that aren't true about college: The Freshman Fifteen is NOT a Myth High School Fully Prepared You For College You're Going to Follow a Four Year Time Line Graduation = Clarity You're Going To Meet Your Husband In College   The Freshman Fifteen Is NOT a Myth When I was in high school all…

The Bachelor 2015 Season Finale

I never watch TV. I am an avid Netflixer with a pinch of Hulu thrown in. However, I make one exception. The Bachelor. I am completely embarrassed at my level of obsession that I have with this show, and this season was no exception. I really liked Chris and felt that he was one of the more genuine bachelor's that the show has had. The Proposal I predicted his top three picks of the season and was completely correct in predicting that Whitney (now his fiancee) would make it into the top three. I felt that she genuinely loved him the most and was completely ready to begin a life as a wife and mother with Chris. I may or may not have shed a tear when he got down on one knee and…

My Favorite Coffee Table Books

I fell in love with coffee table books a couple of years ago when I got my Mary McDonald Interiors book. I seriously couldn't put it down! In case you are new to Progression by Design, I am borderline obsessed with interior design. For this reason, I tend to gravitate towards design focused coffee table books. I love getting a new design book and curling up with a cup of coffee (coincidentally) and pouring through the glossy pictures. Mary McDonald Interiors  As mentioned above, I love my Mary McDonald Interiors book. When it comes to chinoiserie inspired interior design, Mary McDonald is bae. Yes. I used bae in a serious sentence. She is seriously talented and her book beautifully captures her abilities with large, high quality photos of both public and private interiors that she…

  | Towel, Southern Proper | Bag, Vineyard Vines | Tortoise Shell Glasses, Wild Fox | Aviators, Ray Ban | | Blue, Two Piece, Kate Spade | Bow Two Piece, Kate Spade | One Piece, Tory Burch | With Spring Break 2015 just days away for some of you, I thought that I would pull together some of my favorite spring pool pieces for everyone! I am very much in love with all three of these swim suits. Color blocking is a huge trend this year and that pool blue Kate Spade two piece is to die for! May I also just say, to those lucky girls out there with a smaller chest (yes you heard me correctly) feel blessed that you are physically able to wear that Kate Spade bow bandeau. You have…

The Evolution of My Style

When I was over on Pink Champagne Problems, an article that Dana posted ( The Style Evolution of the Biggest Fashion Bloggers) got me thinking. How has my own style evolved over time? I shudder to think back to the days of high school when Ugg boots (still occasionally guilty) and North Faces were considered fashion forward. When I graduated high school and moved into my own apartment in downtown Dallas, I got thrown into the "real world." Women were powerful, career driven, and dressed to the nines. I no longer wanted to just throw on a hoody and be done with it. As I started shopping for "big girl" pieces I watched my style, or lack thereof, evolve from high school casual into a classic, feminine look that  better suited my personality. How would you…
