Friday Reading 4/24

So this Friday is a particularly exciting one because my BIRTHDAY is tomorrow! I am so excited to get together with all of my closest girlfriends for dinner and a night of fun tomorrow evening. We have been having sooo much rain in Dallas as of late, so I feel particularly lucky that tomorrow is the ONLY sunny day all week. Coincidence? I think not. First off, if you haven't read all about my insane Lilly Pulitzer for Target shopping experience, you definitely need to do so here. Have you been wondering what the Emojis that appeared without warning on your Snap Chat app mean? Look no further.  To all of you chronic Starbucks drinkers out there (Hi. My name is Marie and I'm addicted to caramel machiatos)  this article has AWESOME money saving tips…

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Jumpsuit

| Jumpsuit, Lilly Pulitzer for Target (see below) | Sandals, Kate Spade | Purse, Ann Klein (old) | Sunglasses, Jimmy Choo (similar) |  Okay ya'll. I don't think that I have ever seen women get more aggressive in a shopping environment then I did the morning of the Lilly Pulitzer for Target launch. It was ugly. Target employees said that it was even worse than Black Friday... I completely agree with that statement. Let me quickly rewind here. I drove in to College Station this past weekend to visit my best friend Alex. I originally was planning on driving in early Sunday morning, but we decided that we had to go the Lilly Pulitzer for Target launch together at 8 am so I left Saturday night instead! I got off of work and got…

Revamp Your Bathroom For Spring

  | Bath Mat, Beyond Bedding | Apothecary Jars, Amazon | Candle, William Sonoma | Shower Curtain, Garnet Hill | Storage Bin, Target | Bathrooms frequently get overlooked as a space to design! As a woman I spend a fair share of my apartment time in my bathroom, so why not make it a pretty place to be in? I redid my bathroom for spring with a fun, floral shower curtain, a hotel style bath mat, and a few accessories! Feminine Storage I am a huge fan of apothecary jars as a feminine, functional storage piece to store some of my beauty basics in! I fill mine with cotton pads and Q tips, but you could use easily store a stack of your bracelets, nail polish, lipsticks, or any other beauty items in them.…

March Playlist

Okay wow. I can't believe it is already April! March completely flew by and I am definitely in catch up mode as I enter in the final few weeks of my spring semester. I have been completely loving the spring weather and can't wait to style some spring outfits for ya'll. On that note, I apologize for the lack of outfit posts as of late! I have been sick for the last week and trying to get school, work, and blogging back on track! But enough chit chat, let's get to the good part: my favorite songs from the month of March. If you missed last month's playlist post, be sure to go check it out! I have been slowly beginning to listen to country again so there are a few mixed in this…

ClassPass: The New Way To Exercise

  | Tank, Target | Capris, Target (on sale!!) | Water Bottle, Kate Spade | Tennis Shoes, Nike | So in honor of discovering such an amazing workout program, I put together this preppy workout outfit to get the inspiration flowing! Nothing makes a workout better than working out in style. I love Target's active wear line! There are so many bright, colorful pieces at such a great price. I may or may not be wearing a pair of their spandex capris right now... But let's get to it! What is Class Pass?    So I was recently introduced by a friend to the beautiful, magnificent, almost too good to be true (it's true I promise)  concept of ClassPass. It's basically a golden ticket to a very long list of workout facilities. You can take as…

10 Signs You’re a College Prep

10 Signs You're a College Prep | Chances are that if you own a collection of oversized Vineayrd Vines t-shirts, a pair of pearl studs, a Longchamp bag, and are OB-SESSED with Lilly Pulitzer, you're a college prep. Read the other 10 reasons here. | Preppy

I have always had my own distinct style when it comes to fashion. I like to say that I am a good mix of Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen: Pearls one day and a leather jacket the next. This eclectic mix of styles is probably why accepting that I am actually a basic bitch  college prep at heart has been a bit of a hurdle for me. I don't mean this in a snarky way. There is NOTHING wrong with loving what other college girls my age are into. But I must say that I have to laugh at myself on occasion. Preppy college style can get really predictable sometimes. These style cliches got me thinking... what fashion qualities make you a "college prep"? 1. Hagrid Can Fit Into Your T-shirts (guilty) So I don't know when giant tent sized…
