I love this springy blue and green bedroom that I designed as a potential option for a client. The crisp blues in the ming dragon pillows accent the punchy blue walls. I wanted to use a green velvet bolster pillow to accent the blue and add a pop of color to the space.

I typically gravitate to bolder design elements in the main living areas of a home and softer more serene sleeping quarters. I accented the blue and green palette with crisp white curtains, bedding and bedside lamps.

This particular NYC apartment has an uneven distribution of windows on the main wall of the bedroom. I used a custom mirror with the same dimensions as the window and placed it on the other side of the bed to visually balance the focal wall. Using a mirror the same size as the window fools the eye into think that there are two symmetrical windows flanking the bed.

I am happy to announce a new Design Journal series where I will be sharing some of my client work with you as well as the interiors that I create for Progression by Design! It will be a fun way to share some of my work, as well as challenge myself with new design prompts and scenarios.
