5 Ways to Make Extra Money In College

5 Ways to Make Money This Summer ( quick money making tips from a college student) | Progression By Design

As a student, I often find that balancing work and school can pose a bit of a challenge. Not everyone has time to maintain their studies AND a part time job. So while you are on break this summer why not make some extra cash for the upcoming semester?

Work What You’ve Got

Do you have an eye for fashion? Do you love to draw and paint? Utilize your skills! Start a blog and offer online fashion consulting, or create an Etsy store and sell your paintings! There are so many people out there that would love to benefit from your expertise and are willing to pay for it!

Start a Service Business

Calling all nannies, house sitters, personal shoppers, and errand runners: people need you! Start your own service business and watch the money roll in! This is the perfect short term job before you go back to school! You will be able to make your own hours and choose how much you are wanting to work. I have personally found great success with nannying and have really enjoyed it. Consider finding some sort of web based app to help support your business and keep everything organized!

Summer Cleaning

It’s time to dive into your closet and cull that sweater that you keep promising yourself that you will wear but never do! Sell your unwanted clothes and accessories on Poshmark, Ebay, or a local consignment store!

Get Paid to Shop

When I found out about Ebates.com I pretty much freaked out. I had seen the commercials but I was still a little skeptical. Getting paid to shop? Um yeah okay. But seriously ya’ll. Its awesome! I am a big online shopper and Ebates lets you log in and shop at your favorite stores and get paid for it! They send you a check after a 60 day holding period (to make sure that you don’t return the item) and boom! The money is yours.

Combine Them All

One job is great, but what happens when you combine them all? Multiple streams of income. Little chunks of money all add up to big chunks of money! And hey, who knows? Maybe you can continue one of these “jobs” when you start school again in the fall and make money all year long!

I hope that some of these ways to make money this summer have inspired you! Do you have any other ways to earn quick money this summer? Let me know!

I am the exact same way! I think having multiple streams of income is so nice! If something ever falls through, you always have a back up plan! Btw, just went to your blog and I loved your Margarita post. I work at the NHS in Addison (small world) and I love Ivan and his drinks <3 Thanks for stopping by 🙂

I have been babysitting part-time in college for almost two years and it is wonderful! I love the family that I sit for, and the income is a great little weekly boost (hello gas money!). Great post!
