When you are living in a space as tiny as a dorm room, your bed will automatically take center stage. Splurge a little on a few pretty pillows and a duvet cover! It will make a huge difference and really kick your space up a notch. I would pair this bedding with simple white sheets, or white sheets with black trim to pull in the black from the Euro Sham and art work.
In addition to the bedding above, I would also get a custom dorm bed skirt made. No this isn’t necessary, but they really are worth the extra money and completely hide all of your junk that you will be storing underneath your bed. I would go with either a plain white one, or again, white with a simple black trim! Many of those custom dorm websites also offer other goodies like custom head boards and curtains. If your budget allows for either, I would definitely add those as well!
I paired the white, black, and gold bedding with a few simple art pieces. Ladies, I have good news! You can make the black and white abstract art piece yourself! I know. I’ll just start calling you Picasso from here on out. The abstract art piece that I used was created by the ever so lovely and talented Emily A. Clark. She shares some of her tips on creating professional looking abstract art at home on her blog. I put some simple white frames in the middle for a couple of black and white personal photos, and finished the arrangement off with a Vogue art print.
I picked out some delicious looking gold and lucite accessories to adorn your desk! You are there to learn, so you might as well make your desk pretty since you will be spending so much time there! I would highly suggest getting rid of the chair that comes furnished with your dorm. Ew. Not only is it unattractive, it takes up WAY too much visual space. Using a lucite ghost chair will make your dorm room appear much larger. I added a palm leaf pillow for a pop of color, but feel free to use another black and white pillow if you want to keep the color scheme as is!
